Learn how to prepare a low poly person or human model: proportions, joint topology, poses, UVs and animation checks.

01

Start with proportions and silhouette

A low poly person should remain readable at gameplay distance. Establish head size, shoulder width and limb lengths before adding clothing or facial detail. Compare the character to props in the same world so that scale feels intentional.

02

A static person is not an animation-ready character

A static display mesh can look convincing while bending poorly. Animated shoulders, elbows, hips and knees need suitable topology, a skeleton and reviewed skin weights. Image-to-model output should not be assumed to include these.

03

Choose a pose that supports the workflow

Use a clear neutral reference when planning a rig. Avoid hidden limbs or overlapping clothing that make the form ambiguous. For a static crowd silhouette, a fixed pose may be sufficient and can simplify the brief.

04

Test the intended motion

Review the model in the target engine with the actual animations. Look for clipping, collapsed joints and changes in silhouette. Our initial product focuses on static props; character rigging and animation are outside the current tool.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Does the current tool include rigging?

No. The current tool generates static parametric models. Rigging, skinning and animation retargeting are not included.

Can I use a downloaded base mesh commercially?

Check the license on the individual source model, including attribution and redistribution rules. A link in this guide does not grant rights.
